Seiko unveiled its first Kinetic prototype in 1986. Initially called AGM (Automatic Generating Movement) then AGS (Automatic Generating System) they were eventually rebranded as Kinetic. A Kinetic watch is powered by motion like an automatic watch. However unlike an automatic watch which is mechanical and driven by a spring, kinetic watches are electrical and enjoy the accuracy of a quartz movement.
