The case of the SSC359 measures approximately 45mm wide (not including the crown) by 12mm thick and is water resistant to 100 meters. This should be sufficient for splashes, rain, baths, showers & swimming (shallow diving) but is not recommended for scuba diving. The crown screws down to help prevent it from being accidentally pulled out while under water. The stainless steel bezel shows a tachymeter and is fixed (cannot be rotated). The gap between the lugs is 22mm and the leather band can be removed using a band removal tool to be replaced with another band.

- Chronograph that includes a subdial for minutes with a minimum resolution of 1/5 second and a maximum duration of 60 minutes. The central second hand is used by the chronograph. When the chronograph is not in use this hand is stationary. Seconds are shown on the seconds subdial.
- Day subdial to show the day of the week
- Perpetual calendar to correctly update the date based on the month and whether it is a leap year. Watches without a perpetual calendar must have their date adjusted after months with fewer than 31 days.
- Date hand to show the day of the month
- Power reserve indicator subdial
